How to use Valentine’s Day symbols
Valentine’s Day has no symbol of its own in Unicode, so people build it from hearts. ♡ ❥ ღ at the top are text hearts: they take your text colour and paste the way letters do, while 💘 💝 💌 in the emoji group are the coloured ones. Cupid’s arrows ➳ ➵ ➶ are decorative arrows, and the floral hearts ❦ ❧ ☙ stand in for roses.
The combos are ready for a caption, a bio or a message — ➳♡ after a name, 💘⋆。˚ at the end of a story. For a card, Happy Valentine’s Day and Be Mine come ready in fancy letters; for a name or your own words, type them into the fancy text generator. More love faces are on the love kaomoji page, and more hearts on heart symbols.
There is no ❤ in the text groups on purpose: the red heart and ❣ turn into coloured emoji on an iPhone even when you paste the text version, so this page uses ♡ ❥ ღ, which stay text everywhere. Anything your own device cannot draw is hidden from this page.
Questions
What are the symbols of Valentine’s Day?
Hearts, Cupid’s arrow, roses and the love letter. As text they are ♡ ❥ ღ, the arrow ➳ and the floral hearts ❦ ❧; as emoji, 💘 🏹 🌹 💌.
How do I type a heart symbol on my phone?
Most phone keyboards have no ♡ key. Copy it from this page and paste it; to keep it handy, save it as a text replacement, so that a short word like hrt turns into ♡ as you type.
What does xoxo mean?
Hugs and kisses: the x is a kiss and the o a hug. It goes at the end of a message or a card — xoxo ♡ is on this page, and XOXO in fancy letters too.
Do these work in an Instagram bio or WhatsApp?
Yes. They are Unicode text and emoji, so bios, captions, comments and messages accept them. A friend on an old phone may see a box instead of a fancy letter or a new emoji.
