How to use beach symbols
Text has no beach, so beach symbols are pieces of one. ≋ (triple tilde) and ∿ (sine wave) come from maths and stand in for waves, ≈ is a calmer sea, and ☼ is a sun drawn as a circle with rays. 𓆝 𓆟 𓆞 are Egyptian hieroglyphs of fish, and 𓇼 is the hieroglyph for a star — the starfish of beach bios. More wavy lines are on the wave symbols page.
The emoji combos are what makes a bio read as summer: 🌊🐚🌴, 🏝️ ⋆。˚ 🌊, 🍉🌞🌊. Copy one as it is, or put a wave divider such as ≋≋≋≋≋≋≋≋≋ between the lines of a caption. Emoji come out in colour and look a little different on every phone; the text marks take your text colour.
Anything your device cannot draw is hidden from this page. The hieroglyph fish need a font that some older phones lack, so for a caption everyone must see, keep to ≋ ∿ ☼ and the emoji.
Questions
What symbols mean beach?
There is no single beach character. As text people use waves ≋ ∿ ≈, a sun ☼ and fish 𓆝 𓆟; for colour, emoji such as 🌊 🐚 🌴 🏖️.
How do I make a wave line?
Copy a wave divider like ≋≋≋≋≋≋≋≋≋ or ︵‿︵‿︵‿︵ and paste it on its own line. Paste it twice for a longer line, or delete a few marks where the caption is narrow.
Do these work in an Instagram bio?
Yes. The text marks and the emoji are ordinary Unicode, so bios, captions and display names accept them. Only the @handle is limited to letters, numbers, dots and underscores.
