How to use Christmas symbols
Unicode has almost no Christmas characters that behave like text. The tree 🎄, Santa 🎅, the present 🎁 and the bell 🔔 exist only as emoji — colour pictures that your app draws its own way — and they sit in the last group on this page. Everything above it is plain text that takes your font colour: snowflakes ❄ ❅ ❆ from the old dingbat set, stars ★ ✦ ✩, the snowman ☃, carol notes ♪ ♫ ♬ and the crosses ✝ ✞ for the religious side of the holiday.
The snowflake and the snowman are the two that can switch costume. ❄ and ☃ have both a text form and an emoji form, and this page copies the text form; most apps keep it, but some phones still draw a blue snowflake or a coloured snowman in their place. If you want them flat and the same colour as your words, ❅ and ❆ have no emoji form at all and never change.
The greetings — 𝓜𝓮𝓻𝓻𝔂 𝓒𝓱𝓻𝓲𝓼𝓽𝓶𝓪𝓼, 𝔐𝔢𝔯𝔯𝔶 ℭ𝔥𝔯𝔦𝔰𝔱𝔪𝔞𝔰 and the rest — are mathematical letters, not a font, so they paste as they are. A screen reader spells them out or skips them, so keep the real message in plain words somewhere nearby. For any other phrase, the fancy text generator does the same with your own words.
Questions
Is there a Christmas tree symbol I can paste as text?
Not as text — the only Christmas tree in Unicode is the emoji 🎄, and it is in the last group above. People build one from shapes instead: a star ★ on top of a triangle ▲ or a line of ⋆ and ✧ reads as a tree in a caption, and it stays in your text colour.
Why does my snowflake turn blue?
Because ❄ has an emoji form, and some apps show the emoji even when you paste the text version. If it has to stay monochrome, use ❅ or ❆ — they have no emoji form, so every app draws them as text.
Do these work in an Instagram or TikTok bio?
Yes — they are Unicode text, so bios, captions, display names and Discord nicknames accept them. The @handle is the exception: it takes only letters, digits, dots and underscores.
Can I write Feliz Navidad or Happy New Year in fancy letters?
Both are in the “Merry Christmas in fancy letters” group, along with Feliz Natal and Happy Holidays. For your own wording, the fancy text generator linked above uses the same letters.
