How to use invisible characters
An invisible name is made of a character that draws nothing but is not a space. Apps trim spaces from the ends of a name and then refuse an empty field; code that trims, like JavaScript’s trim, removes every Unicode space, the no-break space included. The Hangul filler is a letter in Unicode and the braille blank is a symbol — neither is a space — so they stay. Text engines draw the filler as a blank of ordinary width, the half-width filler is about half as wide, and the zero-width space takes no room at all. Each cell shows a label; what you copy is blank.
Where each one works comes from players and guides, not from the games, and an update can change it. For Free Fire, Indonesian, Brazilian and English guides from 2025 and 2026 use the Hangul filler; two Vietnamese sites that test every update say the game has refused it since OB43 and now takes a no-break space between letters, or a braille blank for a blank name — if one is refused, try the other. PUBG Mobile and BGMI players use the filler too, one as a space between words or several for a blank name. Mobile Legends players use four: players report that its box wants at least four characters. On TikTok and Instagram it goes into the Name field, never the @username. Discord usernames take only lowercase letters, digits, underscores and periods, so a blank can only be a display name or a server nickname. WhatsApp and Telegram take the braille blank for an empty-looking message.
A name made only of fillers is often taken already, so add a second filler or a braille blank — that is what the filler + braille blank cell is for. The no-break and narrow spaces are spaces, so they vanish at the edges of a name; put them between letters. Renames cost something in most games, so test the copy in a bio or a chat first. Why doesn’t a normal space work?
Apps trim spaces from the start and end of a name and then see an empty field. The Hangul filler and the braille blank are not spaces in Unicode — one is a letter, the other a symbol — so trimming leaves them in place. The no-break space is still a space and is trimmed the same way, which is why it only works between letters.
Which one works in Free Fire?
Sources disagree. Indonesian, Brazilian and English guides from 2025 and 2026 use the Hangul filler; two Vietnamese sites that test each update say the game has refused it since OB43 and accepts a no-break space between letters, or a braille blank for a blank name. Try the filler first; if the game refuses it, try the braille blank.
Can I make my TikTok or Discord username invisible?
No. TikTok usernames take only letters, numbers, underscores and periods, and Discord usernames only lowercase letters, digits, underscores and periods — no invisible character fits. What you can blank is the display name: the Name field on TikTok, up to 30 characters and changeable once every 7 days, or the display name and server nickname on Discord.
Does it work in Roblox or Fortnite?
Roblox filters display names and can reset one to your username, and guides report that it refuses most blanks. Epic asks only for 3 to 16 characters and publishes no list of allowed ones; we found no reliable report either way for Fortnite. Test before you spend a rename.
