How to use animal kaomoji
Animal kaomoji are built from a face plus ears, and the ears are what name the animal: (=^･ω･^=) has the cat's pointed ears drawn with ^ ^, while ʕ•ᴥ•ʔ is a bear — the ʕ ʔ are rounded bear ears and ᴥ is the snout. Change nothing but those two marks and the same face becomes a different animal.
The mouth does the rest of the work. ω is the standard cat mouth, ᴥ belongs to bears and dogs, and ᴗ or ‿ turns any of them into a smile. Because every part is an ordinary character, the whole thing pastes into a bio, a username or a Discord nickname without becoming a picture.

What makes it a cat rather than a bear?
The ears and the mouth. Cats get pointed ears written as ^ ^ and the ω mouth: (=^･ω･^=). Bears get the rounded ʕ ʔ brackets as ears and ᴥ as a snout: ʕ•ᴥ•ʔ. Everything else — eyes, whiskers, paws — is decoration on top.
What are the = signs on either side?
Whiskers. In (=^･ω･^=) the two = marks stand in for the whiskers spreading out from the face, which is why they sit outside the ears rather than inside the face.
Do these fit in a username?
The short ones do. ʕ•ᴥ•ʔ is seven characters and fits almost anywhere; a full cat with whiskers and paws runs to fifteen and will not fit a Roblox display name, which allows twenty. Bios are more forgiving — TikTok gives you eighty.
